Healthcare Infrastructure and Architect's Role

design3point14

India celebrates July 1 as 'National Doctor's Day' commemorating the iconic and internationally renowned medical practitioner, Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy who served as a physician, a freedom fighter, an educationist and a politician. On this day, we would like to talk about the need to provide healthcare centres which are quality oriented and sensitive to the needs of the community.

Standards are a means of describing the level of quality that healthcare organizations are expected to meet or aspire to. Key aim of these standards is to underpin the delivery of quality services which are fair and responsive to client’s needs, provided equitably and deliver improvements in the health and wellbeing of the population.

Architects have made significant contributions to the healthcare sector in recent years. Some of the most notable contributions include the design of sustainable and energy-efficient hospitals, the creation of comfortable and healing environments for patients, and the development of innovative technologies for healthcare facilities.

A comfortable and healing environment. This has been achieved through the use of natural light, open spaces, and other design features that promote a sense of calm and relaxation.

Overall, the contributions of Architects to the healthcare sector have been significant, and have played a crucial role in improving the quality of care available to patients in India.
