In India, July 1 is observed as 'National Doctor's Day' in honor of the legendary and globally acclaimed medical professional, Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy, who excelled as a doctor, a patriot, an educator, and a statesman.

Today, our focus is on the significance of creating healthcare facilities that prioritize quality and are attentive to the needs of the community. Standards play a crucial role in driving ongoing enhancements in quality. Healthcare centers can be evaluated based on these established standards, which serve as a way to define the expected level of quality that healthcare organizations should achieve or strive for. The primary objective of these standards is to support the provision of quality services that are equitable and responsive to the requirements of clients, offered fairly and leading to advancements in the health and well-being of the population.

In recent years, architects have played a crucial role in advancing the healthcare sector. Their impactful contributions encompass designing sustainable and energy-efficient hospitals, establishing comfortable and healing spaces for patients, and introducing cutting-edge technologies in healthcare facilities.

The healthcare sector has greatly benefited from the significant contributions of Architects in India, who have created a soothing and therapeutic atmosphere by incorporating natural light, open spaces, and other design elements that encourage a feeling of tranquility and relaxation.

During my visit to Rizvi College of Architecture, I spoke about Hospital Services Planning. I engaged with the Sem IX students who have gained internship experience and are prepared to tackle intricate design subjects such as hospital design for their design dissertation. Hospitals are public buildings where Services are intricately linked with concept and Planning right from the initial stages of design. It is crucial to integrate Services as a fundamental aspect of planning, rather than as an afterthought!
